* In Her Little Hands *a poem about Dominique Moceanu
Her life was harder than most,
much harder than you'd know.
She seemed like such a happy child,
her sadness never showed.
The bad emotions were hidden,
locked up for many years.
One wouldn't know by just looking,
how she'd cried so many tears.
Her Olympics were not what she'd wanted-
it wasn't what she had foreseen.
The team gold medal was awesome,
but in the all around she fell from the scene.
It isn't always so easyto be adored by all.
People don't try to understand,
that even the best gymnasts fall.
Times after these were brutal,
Much tougher than they'd been before.
She knew she had to keep fighting,
and soon she'd be able to soar.
Things went downhill with her family,
she didn't succeed in the gym.
Her life was getting much darker-
Things began looking so grim.
But this little girl persevered.
She kept going through thick and thin.
And in the end she succeeded-
It's now her turn to win.
For everything she's been through,
this success is LONG overdue.
America's Sweetheart,
she'll always be-Little Dominique Moceanu.
Imagine the life of this girl-she has a million fans.
With her smiles, her spirit and her will,
she holds the world
In Her Little Hands.

I found this poem on a gymnastics site. Dominique Moceanu is one of my favorite gymnasts. She won the 1996 olympic all-around gold-medalist.
I have some more poems that I might post later.
